Hello, my name is Aubri Haggard – welcome to my blog!
After being diagnosed with Bipolar II Disorder in August of 2015 I have had to readjust the way that I look at life and how I choose to exist. I strongly believe that my diagnosis does not define me and it is my desire to help change the narrative that exists around mood disorders.
Currently I am finishing up my last semester of my Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). When I am not in class or studying for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exams, I work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the Accounting Department at UNR. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant I have an introductory managerial accounting course where I teach 100 students the basics of managerial accounting. My other duty as a Graduate Teaching Assistant is to provide the necessary support to the accounting faculty through assistance with projects and grading. After I complete my MBA I will be moving to San Francisco to work as an external auditor at a public accounting firm.
I enjoy puzzles and believe that all problems are puzzles waiting to be solved. It is my desire to be an asset to any team I am on by utilizing my abilities as a big picture thinker to map out and solve any and all problems I come into contact with.
It is my hope that this blog will create a productive space for open dialogue regarding mood disorders. With this being said I encourage you to read through my posts and tell me what you think, whether it be a story of your own, agreements, criticisms, or anything in between. My one request is that all comments are respectful and contribute to a healthy discussion.
Thanks for reading!
